FUTA 2011/2012 Admission in Pre-Degree and Diploma Programmes Now Available.

ADMISSIONS INTO PRE-DEGREE SCIENCE (PDS) & UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN
SCIENCES (UDS) PROGRAMMES, FOR THE 2011/2012 ACADEMIC SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admissions into the following
PDS & UDS Programmes for the 2011/2012 Academic Session
1. PRE-DEGREE SCIENCE PROGRAMME
Admissions will be into the following Schools:
i. School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT)
ii. School of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SEET)
iii. School of Earth and Mineral Sciences (SEMS)
iv. School of Environmental Technology (SET)
v. School of Management Technology (SMT)
vi. School of Sciences (SOS)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should possess WASC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB at not more than two sittings with a minimum of
Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two of the following subjects relevant to their
discipline: Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Economics, and Geography. Credit pass in Economics is
compulsory in the School of Management Technology.
QUALIFYING TEST
Candidates for Pre-Degree Science Programme must perform to a satisfactory level in a Computer-Based
qualifying test to be conducted on Friday 21st and Saturday, 22nd October, 2011 at 9:00 am at the eTC CBT
Centre, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
Candidates are expected to visit the website of the Federal University of Technology, Akure
www.futa.edu.ng. for the results of the qualifying test as from Thursday, 3rd November, 2011.
DURATION: The programme is full-time, residential and will run for one academic session of Two (2)
Semesters.
REGISTRATION AND COMMENCEMENT OF LECTURES
Screening and registration of successful candidates begin on Monday, 21st November, 2011 while lectures
commence on Monday, 12th December, 2011.
Candidates who successfully complete the programme and meet the cut-off mark for the course applied for as
determined by the University Admission Committee as well as meet the JAMB cut-off mark would be admitted
into 100 level of the University undergraduate degree programme in relevant discipline.
2. UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA IN SCIENCES PROGRAMME
Admissions will be into the following Schools:

Computer-Based qualifying test to be conducted on Saturday, 26th November, 2011 at 9:00 am at the eTC CBT
Centre, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
Candidates are expected to visit the website of the Federal University of Technology, Akure
(www.futa.edu.ng.). for the results of the qualifying test as from Monday, 5th December, 2011.
DURATION:
The Programme is full time, residential and will run for two academic sessions of four semesters.
Candidates who successfully complete the programme at a minimum grade level prescribed by the University
Admission Committee would be admitted into the 200 level of the University undergraduate degree programme in
relevant discipline through the JAMB Direct Entry mode.
REGISTRATION AND COMMENCEMENT OF LECTURES
Screening and registration of successful candidates begin on Monday, 12th December, 2011 while lectures
commence on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2012.
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
1. Candidates are to apply online by logging on to the Federal University of Technology’s websites,
www.futa.edu.ng. click on the Online PDS and UDS Application Form as from Monday, 4th July,
2011 as the case may be, complete and submit the Online Pre-Application Form, and make a print out of
the form showing the payment PIN CODE. This PIN CODE must be used as the depositor’s name
(see illustration on the FUTA website). Application must be made not later than Friday, 14th October,
2011 for PDS and Friday, 18th November, 2011 for UDS.
2. Following (1) above, candidates are to pay application fee of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) for either
PDS or UDS at the following underlisted designated Banks and await SMS confirmation of
payment through the indicated GSM number on the Pre-Application Form. Thereafter revisit the website
and complete the application form.

3. Submit the Online application form and print out a copy.
1. All candidates are requested to bring along the following items to the screening venue:
i) Depositor’s copy of bank teller(s) indicating payment of TEN THOUSAND NAIRA (N10,000.00)
Application Fee in candidates name.
ii) Completed Application Form (downloaded from the FUTA website).
iii) e-Test scheduling slip which must contain a registration number.
2. The venue of screening exercise is the Electronic Test Centre (ETF) “Obakekere Campus” Federal
University of Technology, Akure.
3. Candidates are NOT allowed to bring cell phones or electronic gadget(s) into the examination hall.
4. Any PDS/UDS candidate who fails to present himself/herself for the computer based e-test examination
will NOT be considered for admission.
5. Candidates are requested in their own interest to have a feel of (practice) the computer based test
by visiting http.//test.jketc.net .
